DEWALT ROUTER KIT IS A GOOD BUY, AND A DEPENDABLE PRODUCT.
GOOD PRODUCT. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS COMBINATION ROUTER KIT TO ANYONE LOOKING FOR A DEPENDABLE ROUTER.

Stands the test of time
I bought this router pack maybe 10 or 15 years ago, and it's still going strong! It's not one of my everyday tools, but when I need it, it's easy to set up, holds its height without slipping, is pretty easy to adjust, and has enough power for anything I've thrown at it so far. Having the three different bases is super helpful. I can leave the fixed base in the router table and still have the D-handle or plunge base for portable routing. If I have any quibbles with it, it's that the adjustment ring has noticeable slop, so making fine adjustments can be a bit trying. Still, overall it's a fantastic product, like every DeWalt tool I own.

Good customer care
I ordered this kit from Amazon and it came without the 1/2" collet inside. This is minor inconvenience but I really hoped getting a replacement part was not going to be a big deal, and it wasn't. I called customer care and they scheduled the part to be shipped right away. With regards to the router, I have already owned the DW616 for 20+ years and I have the cordless compact router as well. Dewalt routers have become my favorite - I have the top of the line Bosch but don't care for it as much and put it in the router table. The only thing this router needs is LED lights in the base.

Works great!
The price point is nice, everything feels sturdy and the router moves smoothly. Takes a little bit of a learning curve if you're not familiar with using a router, but I like this tool!

Versatile and amazing
i bought this a few months ago and i have been quite impressed. Power is never an issue. I even hooked it up a kreg router table with ease. I love this router.

The ease of changing the base's .
I have not had time to use this one yet but i really love it's little brother and i am looking forward to cutting some dovetails with a little more power then my 1 3/4 hp.
