The current RIDGID Lifetime Service Agreement (LSA) has come a long way. The internet has revolutionized RIDGID tool registration, making it more convenient and user-friendly. The Perks of RIDGID Tool Registration

Maintaining your tools can be complicated. Excellent machinery and products are hard to come by, so you want to know that if something breaks or fails, you are covered by the company you bought it from.

Whatever the motivation behind purchasing a tool, we all know it is a significant financial commitment. Ridgid is a company that stands behind its products, and has one of the most extensive warranties on the market.

Registering your tools with RIDGID comes with several benefits, particularly if you elect to register for their Lifetime Service Agreement. The Lifetime Service Agreement is available to the original purchaser of an eligible product and is free of charge. Once you register your tool and submit proof of purchase for approval, you will be eligible for a lifetime of free replacement batteries, free service, and free replacement parts for your RIDGID tools.

The RIDGID Lifetime Service Agreement

What is and is not included in this lifetime service agreement? What are the stipulations? Is RIDGID capable of helping me get new batteries or parts quickly and efficiently? These are some of the most common and important questions that are asked when professionals in the industry hear about this lifetime service agreement.

This is different from the DMV, where the wait time for things can take weeks or months. RIDGID prides itself on paving the way for technicians by saving them time and money while helping them promote themselves to their consumers by using innovative technological solutions.

The RIDGID LSA is one of the best service offerings in the market.  With the slogan "Free Batteries. Free Parts. Free Service. For Life," the LSA demonstrates the company's commitment to providing top-notch customer support. This comprehensive agreement covers eligible RIDGID products, ensuring that your tools remain in optimal condition throughout their lifespan.

Understanding the Conditions of the RIDGID Lifetime Service Agreement

With every lifetime service agreement, there are always conditions that go along with it. We all know that there are rules we must follow to ensure we are covered. Though RIDGID does have conditions, they are not overly complicated like other brands.

With this short guide, we will walk you through all the conditions that apply and help you determine if your tools fall within the bounds of the service agreement.

In short, as long as you are the original purchaser and all conditions of the registration process are fulfilled, you should have access to all the perks offered.

IMPORTANT

To accept the LSA, you must register your qualifying RIDGID brand product within 90 days of purchase

You have 90 days to register the RIDGID brand-qualifying product, and this can be done quickly by   visiting their registration page   and logging into your personal account or creating a new account if you don't already have one.

Ridgid registration log in page

Remember that the person who bought the tool must be the one to register it or at least use their name when registering to ensure that you have access to the service agreement.

The process and approval after registration should not take long, usually within seven days. You will receive a confirmation via email or USPS, depending on how you register, that will include your Customer ID number. Make sure you keep track of it as you will need it to obtain service for your product under the Lifetime Service Agreement, and you will receive verification that the tool has been upgraded to Lifetime Service Agreement status.

After that, you will be good to go if you ever need assistance with your products.

That’s great, right? Now, let’s talk about what is and is not covered under this service agreement. Remember, this is not a warranty. RIDGID gives you a 3-year warranty when you first buy the tool; this service is for life.

Wait, I get a 3-year warranty?

Yes! RIDGID already gives you an automatic 3-year warranty when you purchase RIDGID hand-held power tools, stationary power tools, and pneumatic tools. It begins on the date of purchase. For more information regarding the 3-year warranty, take a look at  RIDGID’s website.

Once the 3-year warranty is up, your lifetime service agreement will continue.

Okay, I need to use the lifetime service agreement; what is covered?

Here's the scoop on what RIDGID’s Lifetime Service Agreement covers.

In short, the agreement covers the tool's wear and tear or failure that arises under normal usage and proper maintenance. The LSA covers all defects and everyday wear items such as brushes, chucks, motors, switches, gears, and even cordless batteries.

Replacement rings, driver blades, and bumpers on RIDGID Brand pneumatic tools are also covered. So you can rest easy knowing that your tool is protected under the LSA.

… and what is not covered?

However, it's important to note that the Lifetime Service Agreement does not cover any malfunction, failure, or defect resulting from misuse, abuse, neglect, alteration, modification, or repair by anyone other than an authorized service center for RIDGID brand tools.

In other words, if you decide to take apart your tool and try to fix it yourself, you're on your own. Make sure to utilize the services that RIDGID provides you.

It is also worth noting that any damage or malfunction inflicted upon the tool by the user or other external sources or failure to comply with the warnings and instructions in the operator’s manual is not covered.

IMPORTANT

Follow all setup and safety guidelines when using your tools to ensure you are covered if the tool malfunctions.

Another thing to keep in mind is that consumable accessories provided with the tool, such as saw blades, planer blades, knives, insert bits, drill bits, grinding wheels, discs, cut-off wheels, sandpaper, safety glasses, and fasteners, are not covered .

These things are expected to wear out over time with regular use, so they're not included in the coverage.

Along with consumable accessories, I want to highlight that specific product categories are also not eligible for coverage under the Lifetime Service Agreement.

These include:

  1. Free or promotional serialized pieces of equipment provided beyond the contents of the purchased tool kit
  2. Generators
  3. Pressure washers
  4. Radios
  5. Accessory batteries
  6. Accessory chargers
  7. Plumbing equipment
  8. Extension cords
  9. Heated gear
  10. Storage
  11. Hand tools
  12. Wet/dry vacs

If you need clarification on whether the Lifetime Service Agreement covers your tool, be sure to check the terms and conditions for your specific product or contact support.
