About Masterlock

Masterlock, with a legacy spanning over a century, has been dedicated to safeguarding what matters most, firmly believing in the value of peace of mind. Recognized globally as the authentic name in padlocks and security products, they empower businesses and individuals, instilling the confidence to secure their valued possessions.

Founded in 1921 by Harry Soref, Masterlock has evolved into the largest U.S. padlock manufacturer by 1950, symbolizing innovation and unwavering commitment. It introduced pioneering products throughout its history, from the first combination lock in 1935 to the Magnum Line of Padlocks in 2007.

MASTERLOCK'S ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY

Masterlock proudly accepts the UL Environment award for its Safety Padlocks with Environmental Claim Validation. Employing a hot runner injection molding process in producing Safety thermoplastic padlock bodies, the brand minimizes environmental impact, resulting in minimal scrap metal. Furthermore, Masterlock ensures the longevity of all Safety padlocks through precision engineering, durable materials, and recommended maintenance practices so that you can reuse them repeatedly.

Masterlock's commitment extends to recycling, with safety padlocks incorporating a high percentage of recycled metal. The steel shackles, brass keys, cylinders, and aluminum lock bodies are manufactured using recycled materials. Notably, these padlocks maintain a significant recycled content, with some reaching up to 65%.

The Environmental Claim Validation from UL Environment reinforces the eco-friendly attributes of Masterlock's 1100 Series, S31 Series, 411 Series, 410 Series, and 406 Series, showcasing the brand's dedication to sustainability. Masterlock is a beacon of environmental responsibility, setting industry standards with commendable initiatives.
