Dead After 3 Cuts: Poor Warranty Support
I purchased in November as a Christmas gift. It is finally spring time and ready for its first use. The pruner made 3 cuts and completely stopped working. Tried multiple batteries and all troubleshooting. Blades do not move at all. I reached out to Dewalt as it is under warranty and outside return period. They said I need to bring it to a Dewalt service center or ship it to a Dewalt service center where they will analyze it and figure out whether it can be fixed or replaced. I don't have time for a multi-week process to get a working unit back in my hands. This is spring time when I need it for most for heavy use and the reason I purchased it a few months ago. Have to go a different direction. Disappointed in Dewalt, when typically have great resolutions.

Excellent cutting power but motor is about to die
I bought this pruner plus extra blade about a year ago (June 20, 2024) from Home Depot. This tool has excellent cutting power. However, when I used it last weekend to trim our fig tree, it started to sound different, brighter sparks near the motor and I could smell something typical of burnt motor. The tool still works but I could tell it won’t last long. Should I just use it until it stops working?

Stops working for no reason.
My wife got this for Christmas last year from our daughter. It is a great idea, but the tool has stopped working. I remove the battery and reinstall. Sometimes that works and sometimes not. Let it sit for a little while and sometimes it usually works again for a little while. It's really weird.

Poor quality. Not like my other DeWalt tools.
Purchased brand new less than a month ago. After about 25 very easy cuts (flower stems) it stopped working. Removed the battery and put it back in again. Started working and then stopped again after one or two cuts. Did this over and over again. Very frustrating.

1st week using this and I couldn’t be more impressed! About 3 hours a day over the last 3 days cutting cedar hedges, branches, pine, maple, everything and anything. Using 5ah battery, haven’t had to recharge yet. The time and effort this has saved me has made this a no brainer buy. Easy to use, lightweight, well made tool. 5 star perfection for my needs!

Amazing tool, but poor durability
Bought the 20V Max Pruner in December. Amazing, game changing tool in the garden. It lasted about three weeks then died. I called Dewalt customer service and they were helpful and efficient and promptly sent me a replacement. The new one lasted two months and died. I'm just a home gardener, not a professional who uses it everyday. Again called customer service. They said since they had already replaced it once, they would not warranty it any further. So disappointing for a tool that cost $125. My other Dewalt tools work great and last. So, I would rate the Pruners as 5 star for functionality and 1 star for durability.

DeWalt one handed power pruner is amazing!
Picked this up on sale for $89! I usually use a two handed lopper or a rose pruner, but this fills in the missing gap. The power on this tool is impressive! So make sure to keep your free hand well away from the blade. User manual says it comes with a hex wrench, but it doesn't. You'll need to use an allen key to remove the blades to sharpen or replace (replacements run $30-$35 and you should keep a backup on hand if doing a big job. The manual says to use an approved resin solvent to clean the blade but doesn't say which ones are approved. The pruner already weighs 3lbs so a 2ah battery is probably the one to use. It'll give you 1k cuts per charge! I was surprised this made in China tool isn't using DeWalt's brushless tech so you'll see a big spark in the rear when using. No idea how to replace the carbon brushing. I'm hoping this is a replaceable part.Trying to post this review, but it talks about a 2020 giveaway and won't let me upload an image. Hope DeWalt can update this too.
