I did a lot of research on this tool! This has been a BEAST in the shop. The power is great as well as the thickness adjustment. Also, the blad removal and instalation is easy. Very satisfied with this purchase.

Game changer
I did purchase the standalone planer at first but the in and out feed attachments have really helped. I was getting warping when longer boards would dip on the way out. with these trays, boards have much better support. I've mostly used on oak varieties and have had no issues whatsoever with performance. One thing I learned quickly (this is my first planer btw) is that maintaining is not optional. Clean the rollers as DeWalt recommends to prevent burn and also use dry lube on the trays.

15 years of use
It’s finally wearing out. A lot of good use out of this machine. Most of the guys in my woodworking guild have the 735. I expect to need a lot more thickness planning in the near future. Will probably spend over $2000 on the next one soon.

the planer works great read the manual and take your time on setup it pays off in the finish my only issue is that it was sold as new and turned out it was used I found saw dust in the machine before I used it packed incorrectly and the blades had nicks so get to now your equipment and take your time

Best Bench Top Planer on the Market
The Dewalt 735x is by far the best bench top planer I have used and in my opinion may be the best one on the market. Leaves a great smooth and flat surface. The chip extractor works so well that i do not need to attach dust collector - just use an dust bag. Adjustments are simple and quick to make. Definitely recommend

Bumps & Bruises
The planer function good, bed table had scratches and the base had the silver chipping off. Alos the casting is poor you can see pits. For the money you would expect better quality control, I would recommend but with a word of caution

Thought this was the BEST planner out there . I was able to build 2 baby cribs out of maple, beautiful. Then I went to plane some western cedar 2 passes and the motor burnt up. Local Dewalt repair shop said it was not covered under warranty, I sent it to Houston Tx. they are waiting on parts. If they repair it I willl think better of it because I do like the planner.

This was on sale-$500.00
As others have said the DW735X is the best and mine is no exception it arrived earlier than expected and the UPS driver was a complete jerk but my planer was in great condition and I saved $150.00

great features and easy to use
I bought this unit as a replacement for one my dad gave me. That unit just fell apart but compared to this one is like comparing a economy car to a luxury car.
