Great idea, poor desing.
I have two of theses and I have had problems with the collapsing mechanism with both of them. It's a poor design from Dewalt. They should do a recall on these.

I hate when I am loosing time on the job because of broken tools.

Dewalt offer some upgrades!
The saw stand itself is nice and beefy and very sturdy. I like the ease of lowering and raising it, and its ability to stand perfectly stable with the saw attached to it for storage. But this saw stand needs some improvement or some optional upgrades for purchase. Firstly, the roller arms are horrible this is a very important feature in having a saw stand not only to hold the saw up, but to hold up the materials you’re working on. I have a cheap generic saw stand that has actual rollers and a more beefy tube to support the arms when they are extended. (yes, I tried to swap them and put them in the Dewalt but they were too big lol ). There should be an optional upgrade to get rollers that actually roll, and maybe some drop-down legs to help support them once they are fully extended. These additional lightweight support legs could be mounted to the stand for storage. You should also offer the ability to add an extension cord wrap that you can attach to the stand. This would dramatically improve. What could be an excellent product from just good to excellent. I am a Dewalt girl and love the tools, but some of your products are lagging behind the competition. For a few bucks more, you could drastically improve the quality of the stand as compared to The Bosch gravity saw stand and still come in at an affordable price. These are just my first observations as I just took it out of the box and put it together, but having been doing carpentry for over 30 years, I know a good stand, and I know what’s lacking. Love DeWalt, but really wish they would listen to customers and step up addressing some of the issues with this stand. Bring it up to the quality that we all love Dewalt for.

WASTE OF MONEY
I purchased one of these stands last year worked for a couple months then the locking mechanism that lowers the stand down wouldn't unlatch. I reached out to dewalt and the sent me another stand brand New only used it 2 times and the same problem the locking mechanism is junk and the arms were hard to pull out. WASTE OF MONEY!!!!!! It went right to the scrap yard.

Good stand!
Great stand. I’ve had it 6 months and the only problem is getting used to the lowering of the stand. Stores nice and moves great. Holds my 12” compound Dewalt miter saw very easily.

Stand will not collapse
I have had this stand for over a year and have yet to get it to collapse. Have read other reviews to try to get it to work. Nothing has worked so far. Well built, but to bad it does not work. I have found nothing on the DeWalt website that addresses this issue

Trouble collapsing
It would be 5 stars but the stand wouldn’t collapse and I had to switch the cables in order to make it work seems like they’ve had this problem for years and dewalt doesn’t fix it.

Lacks Quality control.
Just bought this.Had a couple of Quality control issues.Couldn't screw the vertical lock knob all the way into the work support extension arm.Where the nut was welded on, some of the weld got behind the nut. Wouldn't let the knob go past the nut.Had to buy a round file and an 8mmx1.25 tap to fix the problem. Then the table didn't want to raise all the way up. Had to pry where the top of the assist arm bolts into the slot to get it to move. It's a great stand, Dewalt needs to work on Quality control. Some people would have taken it back for such a small issue.

Current model variant is NOT worth your money
My first experience with this stand influenced my purchase, especially the nice roller supports built into the stand arms. Sadly, that experience was with an earlier model that DeWalt has since revised into a cheaper, lower quality model with significantly worse features...for a higher price. Because of course they have. Unlike the initial model that influenced my purchase, the current model I bought has no rollers, no cord management solution, and all the welds/fit & finish are visibly worse. It's an OK stand, but it's much worse than the Rigid stand and no better than cheaper stands that aren't coasting on the now-unimpressive DeWalt brand's past history.

Saw sits below the end plates. Therefore the wood sits up in the air when you go to cut it.
