Purchased this tool for my DIY plumbing projects. I own old house with many bad pipes. Over the years I replaced pipes using manual pipe cutters. For me personally this tool is another toy to play with. I hope it will last as my other Milwaukee tools, for many years to come. I expect to replace a blade, and looks like no big deal. One of the biggest complains I've seen were related to using this tool on wet pipes or getting this exposed to moisture. Well, manual indicates to keep this tool away from water.

I honestly can’t Believe I lived without these cutters this long. Absolutely the easiest way to cut copper. Battery life is incredible. They are the ultimate tubing cutters.

Nice tool will save your wrists
I work in commercial hvac so this tool really saves my behind. It works 9/10 and when it doesn't just reset it and try again and it'll work. My only gripe is that I wish it cut ⅜ od not I'd. And not sure if user error but haven't gotten it to work as well on soft drawn copper.

Works in all the right places.
Very happy with the addition of this tool. Comes in handy when roughing-in, and fixing measurement adjustments. I knew I should have gotten one sooner, just glad I have one now. So convenient.

Plumbing Tool that can’t get wet
Thought this would be an awesome time saver. But working over head and got to make one cut with it and it got wet and wouldn’t work anymore.

Good tool, but for how long?
I have had a couple of these so far the one I have now Iv had a few years but Iv noticed it’s gotten very slow working is there some sort of maintenance I’m missing? Even with new cutting wheel it’s very slow to cut through copper lines. Iv tried lubricants new wheels but nothing seems to help. Any recommendations

Had the thing for 6 months and did maybe 4 jobs with it. Last one killed it because the pipe was holding a small amount of water. How do you make a copper cutter that can’t get wet?! Avoid at all costs unless you’re doing new construction and the water isn’t on yet!

Works as advertised. Heating & Air Conditioning, as well as plumbing makes cutting faster.

NOT FOR AN HVAC/R MECHANICAL CONTRACTOR
Have not used it in field yet but I just came to realize this is designed with a plumber or a homeowner in mind rather than an HVAC/R Mechanical Contractor. The tool will not cut 3/8” OD refrigeration which is standard in the industry.
One thing I did notice was the offset cutter/cam which makes the tool gyrate while in use is a bit annoying and nothing I want to become accustomed to working with. Additionally, there is a lot of switching which needs to be done between cuts. Then there is the excessive amount of interior de-burring which needs to be done; more than with a conventional cutter. I’m not entirely convinced this is a time saving tool but I will say it will
surely reduce fatigue of the wrist, but that too comes with a price.
