I was excited to buy the Milwaukee 6232-21 Deep Cut Band Saw after reading so many great reviews. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. When I got home and opened the box, I discovered that someone had swapped in an old, used saw-and the blade was missing. The packaging had clearly been tampered with, which was obvious as soon as I opened it.
Instead of the reliable new tool I was expecting, I now have to deal with the hassle of returning it and hoping to actually receive what I paid for. This experience has made me question the quality control and security of the products being sold. I urge others to check their purchases carefully before leaving the store or accepting delivery.
I hope the retailer and Milwaukee take steps to prevent this from happening to other customers in the future.

Whether it’s worth $369 + $27 (blade)..we’ll see
Well built powerful saw. The variable speed is useful for different materials. Although I don’t understand why they call it a kit when it cost $369 and you have to buy a blade? Kit is usually more than one piece? Maybe you’re counting the manual? Also nowhere on the box do they even list what blade you have to buy for the “Kit”. Just “Blade sold separately”.

Great saw!
I love the compact size of this saw. I've used older Milwaukee saws before, as well as owned Makita and Greenlee saws. The Makita was similar in size and weight, but didn't have the power or cutting capacity of this saw. Also, the Makita's flourescent light was horrible. The Greenlee saw was strong and durable with it's all-metal case, but did not like the capacity, and the weight was way too much for the capacity and power. This saw with it's led light, coupled with narrow motor housing allows unmatched visibility. I also love the variable speed.

The cluch unit is not a very good idea,
The design of the clutch is lacking. The 6230 is a much more reliable saw for field work for the long haul. I currently have about 40 porta bands in inventory and will not purchase another with a clutch. If that means going to another brand ,so be it.

Great Saw Minor/Major Problems
I have two of these saws bought by the company I work for. The choice of saw was mine to make, however we probably own 10-15 of them. The stamped metal backstop on all of the others is not accurate if you let the backstop try to square your material. This saw is pretty good at this. My only complaint is that the first saw after about 6 months of use the backstop fell off. The screws holding it stripped out of the Aluminum housing.
I bought another saw to replace it while the first was being repaired, its backstop has been loose from the beginning. I am scared to attempt to tighten it for fear of stripping the screws. The repair required the hole to be redrilled, tapped to a larger size, then used lock tight to keep them in place. After this repair I have used the saw for close to two years with no problems.

Very Happy With The Choice I Made
I bought this saw to replace another Brand saw I lost in a fire. I use the saw to work on my utility trailer, cut pipe and scrap iron for many welding projects I come up with around my propery, cut exaust pipe for vehicles and equipment. This saw is much more durable then my previous. The slender motor makes veiwing cuts much better and the LED light is great when cutting in shadowed areas. Also I love the balance feel Awkward positions. It has the power to cut stock large or small. If anything happened to this saw I would definatley replace it with the same one!
