The only issue we have is the bags rip easily at the seems when doing a large job. The company was very gracious to send me out a replacement bag because the new leaf bag ripped the first time I used it after replacing the bag I purchased.

Loud and Lasted Less than 2 Years
We bough one of these about 16 months ago. It's been fine for blowing (I agree with other reviewers who don't use it for mulching...too much hassle, bag is too small). It's got a very loud turbine, but the biggest issue was the plug burning our extension cord. We smelled smoke and then saw it coming from the cord! Now the two cords are melted together, so I have to replace BOTH the blower and the 50' extension cord. No too happy.

Awesome piece of gardening equipment!
I have used this leaf mulcher for the past season, and I used it exclusively to mulch leaves. I find it performed better than expected, saved a tonne of garden waste bags, and prepared tonnes of leaves for my leaf mould pile. I did find that it works best on dry or lightly damp leaves, if the leaves were wet, the chopper had trouble grinding down the leaves. But to me this was completely expected. Some other reviews mentioned challenges with the performance of the bag - I found my bag held up just fine, but I did have to order a new one because I was lazy and let the bag drag too often on the sidewalk, wearing down the corner of the bag. Ordering a new bag was simple and easy - and to me I consider a consumable item, like a filter on a furnace, so I did not mind. Overall, very satisfied, and I actually look forward to using it next season.

Great blower, horrible bag!!
The machine works great. Plenty of power and control, plus is's super durable! I've had it for over three years and it makes easy work out of yard work. The biggest hang up is the bag! It tore at seams and you don't find out till you have a face full of leaf scraps flying into your face (note: always use goggles when working! I made some crude repairs, but it keeps tearing! Surprised that the bag is not made from some tougher nylon and more robust zipper material. Would have made this the perfect tool!

I personally love this time of year. Fall is such a great season because it finally starts getting colder and we get holidays every month! The only thing that sucks is having to rake up the leafs of a giant maple tree. I don't know how many years I've been raking leaves, but after my rake broke I thought I would finally get a blower. Oh boy, should I have gotten one sooner! This blower makes clean up a breeze! It is also incredibly easy to get into the tight spaces between pots. Honestly, it makes my yard look much more tiddy than when I used a rake. I haven't used the mulching function yet or the bag as my city provides my home with a giant bin for yard waste. However, I do have concerns of mulching leafs with the plastic impeller. I'm not sure about anyone else, but I usually pick up more than leafs when I clean up my yard such as sticks and other trash that gets blown in. For a corded model, this thing is great and can make yard clean up a much faster task. The only thing is it doesn't seem to have enough power to blow leafs from my weedy flower beds even on high. Other than that, I enjoy using this blower.

Years later it’s still works great!
I bought this years ago (leaf hog model). Works great. Bag is small but if it were larger it wouldn’t be tote able. I remember a hose and fabric connector for a large trash container. If anyone knows where I can find one, I’d appreciate it. Would it be possible to get all black & decker products made in USA? It would be a great selling point!

The blower/mulcher is great, bag is trash.
The blower and vacuum/mulcher work great, especially for the price. The bag that comes with it is garbage, particularly the zipper. If you plan on using the vacuum function, don't plan on getting more than a couple uses out of it. All they would have to do to make this a viable purchase is upgrade the zipper on the bag, so it's insane that they haven't done so yet. I would happily pay more for an upgraded bag because I like the vacuum function and it is completely unusable. Can't recommend as of now, Black and Decker, please send help!
My star reviews are in reference to the overall product. Reviews would be all 5 stars if I was only reviewing the blower function.

I bought another brand before this B+D but I returned it after using once and I did not finish the job. The unit was discharging electrostatic shocks on handle and all over the plastic. Then I picked up this B+D because its the only choice I got.
It is lighter with 2 speed option. The switch is easy to access and softer to turn which is a plus especially when a tiny stone gets sucked that you can easily turn it off.
I only use the weaker settings to vacuum to avoid sucking the stones instead of the Palo Verde and Mesquite flowers plus some leaves. I didnt even use the blower saving me time because air speed is enough to get the leaves and not the stones.
It works well for my purpose cleaning a small yard with some pebble areas, a small deck, and a 80 sq ft lawn.

Second year and the bag is useless. I need a vacuum more than a blower. This is not the unit I would recomend.. For a blower I think it is fne. Problem is it isn,t for vacuuming
