Frequently Asked Questions
Will the iSee work with my iPhone or Android phone?
Will the iSee work with my iPhone or Android phone?
Yes. The TC01A is for Android phones and tablets with a USB-C port. The TC01B is for iPhones and iPads with a Lightning port and is Apple MFI Certified. The TC01C is for newer iPhones and iPads that use USB-C. All three use the same Fluke iSee app available on Google Play and the App Store.
Is the iSee accurate enough to use for electrical inspections in a data center?
Is the iSee accurate enough to use for electrical inspections in a data center?
Yes. The iSee measures with an accuracy of plus or minus 2 percent or 2 degrees Celsius, whichever is greater. Its 50 mK thermal sensitivity catches small temperature differences that indicate early-stage problems. It is not a replacement for a full-size certified thermal camera on high-stakes inspections, but it is a practical tool for routine checks, walk-throughs, and quick diagnostics.
How close do I need to be to get a good reading?
How close do I need to be to get a good reading?
The temperature measurement distance is 0.25 to 5 meters. For most rack and panel inspections in a data center, that means you can get a useful reading from arm's length up to about 16 feet. The field of view is 56 by 42 degrees, which covers a good area at typical working distances.
Can I use the iSee to document findings for a report?
Can I use the iSee to document findings for a report?
Yes. The iSee app lets you save thermal images and video, add text annotations, and compare the thermal view with the visible light image side by side. You can share files directly from the app. This makes it easy to attach thermal evidence to a work order or maintenance report without extra steps.
What happens if I drop it on the job?
What happens if I drop it on the job?
The iSee is rated to survive a 1-meter drop test. The TC01B and TC01C carry an IP56 ingress protection rating, which means they are protected against powerful water jets. The TC01A is rated IP54. The aluminum housing is built to handle daily use in a trades environment.
