GearWrench 82300 2 Pc. Indexing Pry Bar Set 8" & 16"

I love having the option of changing the angle, instead of having to grab multiple pry bars just one can get the job done. It’s great for adjusting to work properly in tighter spaces. Unfortunately due to shipping issues I haven’t had much time to give a real thorough test run but so far I love the functionality. The only thing I’m a little disappointed on is the swivel point where the head attaches to the handle is a bit sloppy in my opinion. I wish the tolerances there were a little bit tighter.

I was really interested to test out this indexing prybar set. There’s a good click from the button to change the angles and the build quality is sturdy. You do sacrifice a bit of head width as it’s a tad larger to accommodate the indexing mechanism. There’s a good range of motion to change the angle to whatever application you need. Finish on the product is matte black with a slight chalky texture. It feels sturdy and solid in the hand and not something you would lose grip on. Handle is metal and similar to an all metal ratchet grip so very comfortable, albeit it may be a little thin when applying more pressure on something. Overall happy with the product, but it was shipped to me just in an envelope/plastic mailer without anything else to cover/wrap it. Parts of it got dinged up in transit, but just the black finish.

A great set of prybars that offer flexibility to get leverage in tight spaces. The adjustable foot let’s you tailor the prybar for your situation, something rolling head and traditional prybars cannot offer.

I use the pry bars for removing valve covers, timing covers , and in any area that does not allow a regular curve or straight pry bar to fit. Many times a conventional pry bar is against a wall or surface and i cant pry or go further. With the adjustable head it allows me to have the handle away and have more movement. I no longer have to reach for a straight or curved pry bar when i can just grab the adjustable one. What I like is that u can fold the head in to make it more compact for storage in my drawers. When putting force against the prybar it does not flex or give out at the lock mechanism even when prying motor mounts. I recommend this pry bar as it provides many angles that help its use in tight spaces, and it gets rid of the need to buy additional styles of pry bars.

Overall the indexing pry bars are another quality product from Gearwrench. I got them intending to use the larger one as a seal puller but it’s not quite big enough at the prying end for tractor trailer wheel seals. I think it would work for cars and other seals though. They did do a good job at popping out the springs on brake shoes. They held up very well to hammering on them, both on the handle and the prying end. The finish is durable. There is really only one problem I’ve found with these pry bars, there’s a good bit of “play” or “slop” in the prying end and it seems to be the same no matter where you have them indexed.

Not too bad. It does seem the head it a little bit loose when being indexed. Haven’t had to opportunity to really pry down on the bars to test them. Will give a review later after I actually get the chance to use them

I received these indexing pry bars from Gearwrench. I was impressed by this . Super durable. I like the indexing feature as it allows you to use the tool for different situations and positions. I say it’s worth it. Never can go wrong with a good set of pry bars especially when they can index. The texture feel good to the hand as well.

The Gearwrench indexing pry bars are a great tool to have especially if you do a lot of engine work. The 8 inch pry bar is great for getting into tight spots like removing a timing cover. Wonderful tool!

When i first got the prybar set i was sure how strong they would be. I quicky found all kinds of ways you can use them. I really like how you can adjust to fit about any angle and get into spots a regular prybar cant. They also add more leverage making the task easier. The adjustments seem rock solid when they lock and its really easy to adjust. I found myself wanting to find more and more uses for them. These dont completely replace a regular prybar but they definitely do give you so many more uses. I would definitely recommend these to anyone as a must have tool. You will see yourself finding new uses for them all the time.

So glad I ordered these, best decisions ever where you can’t fit a standard old pry bar you can fit these. Another great part is since I can change the angle of the head I don’t need all to many pry bars. And the guy next to me in the shop is looking to buy a set after using mine! Would highly recommend
