- Install nails with a powered nail tool, ensuring face protection.
- Adjust nail tool pressure to avoid overdriving nails.
- Use at least one 8d x 1 1/2" or 10d x 1 1/2" nail per nailing grid.
- Follow the MMLU Installation and Load Table for additional nails.
- Ensure vertical spacing of nails is at least 1/2" to prevent splitting.
- Ensure MMLU height is at least 60% of joist height for rotation resistance.
- Install I-joist web stiffeners or floor truss end vertical webs if needed.
